“The Morning After Creation” is a special book, and it has extra meaning for me because it is the first time I have worked on something like this. Okay, I didn’t write the book – it’s the work of a local author, Augusta Benčić Ivančin. But the cover photo is my work. It all started at her urging, and as I often say, challenges like this are what drive us forward.
The story of the book “The Morning After Creation”
Taking a photo for the cover was a completely new experience for me. We worked for about an hour until we got the perfect photo that matched Augusta’s vision. This process was not only technical, but also creative. We talked about the symbolism, atmosphere, and emotion the cover should convey. It was a collaboration in the truest sense of the word – we adapted the idea until it became what she imagined.
The content of the book itself is intriguing and, honestly, it immediately caught my attention. The story of a woman who decides to seduce a priest, while he tries to restore her faith in God, is not something you hear every day. Augusta writes bravely and openly, and that’s exactly what fascinates me about her.
Augusta Benčić Ivančin’s writing style
Augustine’s books are, in my opinion, a real refreshment on the literary scene. You won’t find classic “lovelies” or sugary romances in them. Instead, it deals with topics that are often taboo in Croatia. For example, her first book, “Swinger Paradise,” explores the world of swingers. But don’t expect pornography or sensationalism – Augusta has a talent for presenting controversial topics with a touch of seriousness, but also liveliness.

Working on the cover of this book was an extraordinary experience for me. Augusta opened the door to the world of literature for me in a way I never expected. Her stories, just like her, exude authenticity and boldness. I hope you enjoy her books at least half as much as I enjoyed working with her.
